R.I.P

Share

It was a late night in november when my life would change with just a single phone call. It was around 3:30 am in my mom had woke me up and told me to get ready we where going to are grandparents house. I was not sure what was going on so I did what I was told and get ready. When I got to my grandparents house they told me that something had happen to my brother and that we had to stay their for a little while. Later, on that morning are local priest had come to the house to talk to us. He told us that are brother had passed away and was in heaven now. We asked a lot of question about what happen and when would we see him again. I was 1 of 5 kids I was the middle child. They told us that he had passed away for a gun accident while spending the night at his friends house. For me I was old enough to understand what happen, but to young to really to overwelmed by the moment.

I seen the rest of my family crying and sad so, I felt like I had to be the strong one. SO, I hide my emotion in and delt with my innner demons while putting on a front for the rest of the family to help them through it. The next few days after it seemed to go on forever. All the people comming to the house to greve with the family, and also the two showing. Since my brother was young and very active in sports their where a lot of people who showed up for the viewing. As I look back, I am overwelmed with the love that was shown for my brother and family. Their where 4 priest that spoke at his funneral and over 400 people who attended the funneral. I can remember even to this day all the details of that night and weekend that followed I remember all the people talking to us and explaing who to act when we went back to school. Explaining that people are going to say sorry and how to responed, but most of all I learn how to express my emotion and love openly and not be afrain to tell someone how I feel.

It took me many years to be able to learn how to cope with the situation and to be able to come to easy with it. I miss my brother dearly and love him still every day. That accedent brought my family so much closer and showed us you can not take life for grantent. So, for all you out their tell everyone in your life that you love them ever chance you get because you never no when your going to wake up and not be able to tell them anymore. In rememorence of my brother Ron...
